2018 Summer I Term

This half term we have welcomed another 4 children into Nursery. They have settled well and it has been lovely to see them make friends with all the children. With the better weather we have been able to get outside and the flowers and vegetables we planted are growing well making the outdoor look really colorful.

Our topic this half term has been Spring plants and animals and the children have had lots of fun learning the names and sounds associated with them.

We had lots of fun on our signs of Spring walk and the children were very interested to see the flowers and trees and insects and get to know their names. They were especially impressed by the beautiful pink blossom on the trees and recreated this effect in their artwork. In RE we have had devotion to Mary during the month of May and the children made a collage and crowned a small statue.

2018 Spring II Term

The children really enjoyed the Spring Term despite the prolonged cold weather.

Now that the Spring is finally here we can use the money raised from our Easter Parade Coffee Morning to buy plants and seeds for our outdoor area.

The children have all been making good progress and we look forward to welcoming 5 new children to Nursery in the Summer Term.

2018 Spring I Term

Nursery children have had lots of fun with our winter weather theme this half term. We have been polar explorers in the messy tray learning lots of new vocabulary as we found the hidden objects and animals. In the ice cave we have read lots of winter themed books and cuddled to keep warm with the polar bear and the penguin. We loved the arctic themed small world exploring and using positional language to describe what we were doing. Our winter artwork looks beautiful on our display too. One of our favourite activities has been learning penguin rhymes and using stick puppets as we performed.

2017 Autumn II Term

What a busy half term we have had! The children have really enjoyed our topic “Light and Dark.” We started by looking at firework patterns and describing differences between night and day. The children also learned about customs associated with Diwali. As we approached Christmas the children really captured the spirit of Advent preparing for Christmas by thinking about their families, making cards and learning the Nativity story. A big thank you to all the parents who helped us by sending in beautiful family photos for our display and of course attending the Nativity assembly and contributing food for our Christmas Party. The highlight at the end of term had to be our visit from Santa who brought gifts of new puzzles for our Nursery.

2017 Autumn I Term

All the children have settled in well and made a great start at getting to know their teachers and their new friends. We are all looking forward to lots more learning when we return after the half term break!
